![]() ![]() ![]() By restricting the Rebels' ability to produce ships or even travel the galaxy, you can starve them of resources and pin them in one corner of the map. You'll need tons of ships for defense, and follow them with tons more ships for offense. Several of your vehicles, such as the AT-AT and the Death Star, will be essentially invincible until your enemy learns what the counter is.īecause you will need to constantly be moving, your space fleets are really the most important things you have. You must develop the ability to strike quickly as necessary. You will always have a technological advantage, so keep the best units in the front lines at all times. Make sure every planet you own has at least five to eight units garrisoned on the ground and a sizable space defense as well. Be aggressive, dominate the planets as quickly as possible, and build up your bases fast.Īlthough we'll go over this in more detail in the Galactic Conquest section, the Empire must expand its territory quickly, but then slow down as the Rebels do the same. Playing as the EmpireĪs the Empire, your role is to stick to your game plan. Plus, don't forget about the Death Star, which cannot be touched save for one specific Rebel unit. In space, the Empire's fighters and bombers are a little weaker than the Rebellion counterparts, but the Empire's capital ships are just a bit stronger. This is compensated by an increased number of units per company of troops. On a unit-for-unit basis, the Empire is weaker than Rebels, at least on land. This means the Empire will move just a hair slower than the Rebels, but remember, if the Empire is winning, it is setting the pace, and going that slow will be to its advantage. Strong ground defenses are a must due to the Rebels' special ability of Raid Fleets (explained in their section), and should be developed before expanding across the galaxy. The Empire also holds the stronger vehicles in the game, especially in space, and can do the future equivalent of laying siege to win battles.Īn Empire player must always be aware of all his planets, because the Rebel forces will try to sabotage Empire funds and research. To compensate, a company of Empire units typically contain more individuals than a Rebel company. Taking a planet will yield credits, and creating research facilities will advance its technology, thus opening new ships, units, buildings, and upgrades. ![]() Generally, the Empire will be proactive, and will seek to capture planets. The Empire controls the tempo of the game. Its ultimate weapon, the Death Star, possesses a laser powerful enough to obliterate a planet and in practice, you can use the Death Star to literally remove a planet from gameplay. The Empire seeks to unify all planets in the galaxy to its rule. ![]()
